Design Competition Themes: Innovative future train designs that solve the transportation issues of today.

Environment and sustainability - Carbon zero travel, encouraging people to use train transport to minimise traffic congestion, design for longevity

Inclusivity - Travel for all ages and abilities, flexible seating solutions, convenient travel for groups or individuals, seamless and enjoyable travel

Interconnectivity - Transforming from one mode of transport to another, multimodal interchange, ticketing, enhancing the convenience of rail travel, first and last mile

Safety - All aspects of passenger and staff safety, cleanliness, safe evacuationcommunication, fire safety

Designs for all forms of rail vehicles are encouraged, from light rail, maglev to future innovation

Submission requirements:

4 x digital A2 presentation sheets to include:

1 x hero image to explain the whole design entry.

Written description in 100 words

Additional animation is optional

A prize of 50,000 RMB

Silver Awards (3 winners)

A prize of 30.000 RMB

Bronze Awards (8 winners)

A prize of 20,000 RMB

Promising Star Awards (20 winners)

A prize of 5,000 RMB

All Creative Awards (10 winners)

A prize of 3,000 RMB

Excellent Organizing Award

All shortlisted winners will be invited to present their design in person to the competition judging panel in Qingdao China followed by the awards ceremony where the winners will be announced. Travel and accommodation will be paid for by the competition organisers.
